The Oregon Children's Choir holds open auditions for its eight different choirs (2nd grade through high school students). All singers should come prepared to sing "America the Beautiful" (you don't need to memorize it.) You'll hear short melodies of five to ten notes and you should be prepared to sing back those melodies to test your pitch memory.
Older, more experienced singers (Young Men's Ensemble and Young Women's Choir auditioners) will also have their sight reading ability checked and will be asked to demonstrate the ability to identify the letter name of all the notes in the treble clef.
Singers interested in auditioning are asked to bring a completed audition form, a letter of support from your parent or guardian and a recommendation form from your music teacher to the audition.
