in Music Education from the University of Oregon. She has taught music in the Eugene area
for over 25 years. Currently she is the music specialist at Mt. Vernon Elementary School in
Springfield. Tama is also vocal director for Rose Children’s Theater. This is her ninth season with the Oregon Children’s Choir.

About the Junior
Boychoir
The Junior Boychoir is for boys in 2nd - 4th grades. The Junior Boychoir goes on a 1-
day performance tour each spring. Under the
direction of Tama Rowan they perform at all 3 of
our main choir concerts
during the year. They meet once a week on Monday afternoons and
on
occasional Saturdays.
Time Commitment and Attendance
Parents of Junior
Boychoir choristers must attend a mandatory parent meeting to be held the
first evening of rehearsal.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals for the 2009-2010 Season begin
Monday, September 14, 2009. Choristers must attend all major choir
events:
- All rehearsals (no more than 2 absences per term are allowed)
- Rehearsals for the Junior Boychoir are Mondays from 4:30 to 5:30 and on occasional Saturdays.
- All Day Fall Retreat with Performance - October 16th, 2010
- Holiday Concert - December 04, 2010, 3:00pm
- Spring Concert - March 05, 2011
- Finale Concert - May 22, 2011
- Summer Performance Tour (Required)
The Oregon Children’s Choir is a
non-profit organization. Its operating expenses, which
include music,
conductor’s salaries, and rehearsal space, are funded by chorister tuition.
- Tuition for the upcoming season, September through June - $350.
- Choral Uniforms:
- Oregon Children’s Choir shirt - $15
- Khaki pants, black socks, black belt, and black shoes (provided by parent)
- Spring
Performance Tour - approximately $75

Each year we have many young singers possess the talent, energy, drive and commitment that it takes to be a part of the Oregon Children's Choir, but they lack the financial means to afford it. You can help! For as little as $33 per month, you can give specifically to provide scholarship funds to help children experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.
