About The Conductor
in Music Education from the University of Oregon. She has taught music in the Eugene/Springfield area
for over 25 years. Currently she is the music specialist at Mt. Vernon Elementary School in
Springfield. Tama is also director with Rose Children’s Theater. This is her ninth season with the Oregon Children’s Choir.

About the Junior
Academy Singers
The Junior Academy Singers is for boys and girls in 2nd - 5th grades. The Junior
Academy Singers goes on a 1-day performance tour each spring. Under the
direction of Tama Rowan they perform at all 3 of our main choir concerts
during the year. They meet once a week on Monday afternoons and on
occasional Saturdays.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals for the 2010-2011 Season begin
Monday, September 13, 2010. Choristers must attend all major choir
events:
- All rehearsals (no more than 2 absences per term are allowed)
- Rehearsals for the Junior Academy Singers are Mondays from 4:30 to 5:30 and on occasional Saturdays.
- All Day Fall Retreat with Performance - October 16th, 2010
- Holiday Concert - December, 2010, 3:00pm
- Spring Concert - March 19, 2011
- Finale Concert - May 22, 2011
- 1-Day Performance Tour, May 2011 (Required)
The Oregon Children’s Choir is a
non-profit organization. Its operating expenses, which
include music,
conductor’s salaries, and rehearsal space, are funded by chorister tuition.

Scholarships
Each year we have many young singers possess the talent, energy, drive and commitment that it takes to be a part of the Oregon Children's Choir, but they lack the financial means to afford it. You can help! For as little as $33 per month, you can give specifically to provide scholarship funds to help children experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.
