About The Conductor

University of Oregon. She and her husband, Bruce, are local composers and have a music
publishing company, Aardvark Hill. They have been commissioned to compose over 10 works for the Oregon Children's Choral Festival and are award winning composers, receiving Malecki Music's coveted Merit Series award for Our World, as well as receiving numerous Festival Favorite awards. They have written and composed two children's musicals, one of which, A Mouse Christmas, has sold to hundreds of schools and churches all over the world. Jennifer is Director of Music Ministries at her church, has a private piano studio and teaches music at Ridgeline Montessori School. She is also a guest worship leader at retreats and churches. Jennifer has been a part of the Oregon Children’s Choir since 1985.
Girlchoir - (5th - 8th grade girls)

About the Girlchoir
The Girlchoir is for girls in the 6th - 8th grades. They sing music
by local composers, classical and folksongs from around the world. They
perform in the local community and have social gatherings throughout the
year. The Girlchoir rehearses every Monday afternoon and an occasional Friday. This choir goes on a 3-4 day performance tour each May.
Time Commitment & Attendance
Girlchoir parents must attend a mandatory parent meeting:

Rehearsals for the 2011-2012 Season begin September 12, 2011.
Choristers must attend all major choir events:
- All rehearsals (no more than 2 absences per term from rehearsals and or performances are allowed)
- Rehearsals for the Girlchoir are Mondays from 4:00 to 6:00 and an occasional Friday of every month (usually the second Friday).
- Fall Retreat with Performance - October 8th, 2011
- Holiday Concert - Saturday, December 3, 2011, 3:00pm - FUMC
- Spring Event - Saturday, March 10, 2012, 3:00pm
- Finale Concert - TBA, 2012
- Spring Performance Tour (Required)
Financial Commitment
The Oregon Children’s Choir is a non-profit organization. Its operating
expenses, which
include music, conductor’s salaries, and rehearsal space, are funded by
chorister tuition.
- Tuition for the upcoming season, September through June, is $425 if paid in full or on a payment schedule by Aug 31st. (You Pay $450 below and $25 will be credited towards your trip account).
- After Aug. 31st, tuition will be $450.
- Choral Uniforms –approx. $75
- Oregon Children’s Choir polo shirt - $15
- Spring Performance Tour – approximately $300

Donations
You can help the Children of all ages be part of something extraordinary by giving your tax deductible donations to the Oregon Children's Choir! General donations are used to fund OCC development, expenses, improvement and the many operating expenses. Every gift, no matter the size is very important! Scholarships
Each year we have many young singers possess the talent, energy, drive and commitment that it takes to be a part of the Oregon Children's Choir, but they lack the financial means to afford it. You can help! For as little as $33 per month, you can give specifically to provide scholarship funds to help children experience this once in a lifetime opportunity. Choir fans, alumni, parents, grandparents and business are invited to become regular givers to fund scholarships that go directly to help off set tuition cost.
